2nd Stars and Stripes Benefit
What the Ride is about:A new Utah State Veterans Home is being built in Payson, UT. (Its ribbon cutting is tentatively scheduled for June 6th, just two weeks before our ride.) This nursing care facility will be open to all Veterans. However, the government funding of the home does not include much in the way of amenities. Various Veteran's organizations in Utah are working to raise money to add things like TVs, recreational equipment and other amenities to make the lives of Veterans in the home more comfortable and pleasant.
Chapter 431 of STAR Touring and Riding (Provo, Utah) has stepped up to help in the fundraising effort by sponsoring this Benefit Ride. In 2012, the first Stars and Stripes Ride raised over $8,000. Every penny raised by this event will be deposited directly into the Utah Division of Veteran's Affairs Charitable Trust. None of the money will to go our Chapter nor to any other purpose. After the actual expenses of the Ride (for T-Shirts, flyers, etc.) are paid by the Trust, the entire remaining proceeds will be used at the Veterans Home for amenities for the Veterans.
Cars included in 2013 RideThis year we have expanded the Ride to include Classic and Custom Cars after the motorcycles leave, so there will be no conflict between vehicles. Both groups will be back to the park before the Festivities (and drawings) start.
Route: Like last year this will be a trip around the Nebo Loop. Unlike last year the ride will start as well as end at the Payson City memorial Park at 300 S. Main St. in Payson Utah. The Ride will first head South on I-15 to Nephi(exit 225) and East on UT 132 for a few miles to the Nebo Loob Byway. The Nebo Loop Road will take participants right back to Payson coming out of the canyon on Peteetneet Drive (600 East) and then back to the park for food, fun and prizes..

Ride Day Registration/Check in: 7:00-9:00 am at Payson City Memorial Park (Take I-5 exit 250, turn south at the bottom of the exit ramp onto Main Street and continue south to 300 S. The park is on your left.
End of Ride Party/Music/Prize Drawing: Payson City Park at 300 S. Main,
about Noon to 2:00 pm

How you can join the Ride:REMEMBER: Only the first 200 registrants receive a "Stars and Stripes Ride" T-Shirt - SO register NOW.
1) Pre-register in person:Come in to
2) Pre-register by mail:Print and fill out the Registration and Liability Release Form, write a check for the registration fees ($25 per vehicle, plus $10 for each ADDITIONAL T-shirt you order -- one T-shirt is included for the 1st 200 paid vehicle registrations.) Make the check out to: Utah Division of Veterans Affairs Charitable Trust (or UDVA Charitable Trust) and write "Stars and Stripes Ride" of the face of the check. Then, send the completed form and your check to: Stars and Stripes Ride, c/o Tom Tranchell, 440 S. 300 E, Santaquin, UT 84655
NOTE: To get EXTRA T-Shirts (only 1 T-shirt is included in a vehicle registration), we must RECEIVE your Payment ($25 registration fee PLUS $10 for each EXTRA T-Shirt) ON OR BEFORE June 5, 2013 so we can ORDER extra T-Shirts. You will NOT be able order T-Shirts on the day of registration.
THEN Check in on the day of the ride between 7 and 9 am to receive your T-Shirt, a ticket for the prize drawing and any other goodies we may have gathered from sponsors, etc.
NOTE: As this is a benefit and all monies paid go directly to the Veterans Home, there will be NO rainchecks or refunds for bad weather or similar unforeseen circumstances. We will be there rain or shine.
OR on Ride Day:Register on the Day of the Ride: You can register on the day of the ride, but get there EARLY to register. And remember, only the first 200 paid registrations receive T-Shirts (because we have to order them in advance.) Those 200 may all have pre-registered and no T-shirts will be left on registration day. If any are left, we will include one with your registration and you can buy extras for $10 each. Purchasing extra T-Shirts on the day of the ride will depend on existing supply. To guarantee you get as many T-Shirts as you wish, PRE-REGISTER and make sure we receive the registration and payment BY June 5th.
Even if you forgot to pre-register and the T-Shirts are gone, you can still register on the day of the event, donate to the Veterans Home, and participate in the Ride, the Music, the Party and the prize drawings.
THEN RIDE! (or what ever)Because this is a BENEFIT FUNDRAISER for the Veterans Home, we want you to come even if you don't want to "do the ride." You can come to the park, and just hang out, enjoy the party, music and food (for sale) and participate in the raffle.)
THEN PARTY!The ride starts and ends in the Payson City Park where there will be live music (The Marty Sutton Band willl be back again this year), a raffle of donated prizes, and food available for purchase. Come have a great time.
